Your Digital Card Outlived Its Format
Wizards of the Coast says MTG Arena will retire Alchemy in early 2027. The separate Alchemy: Reality Fracture companion release is the last one planned for that format, arriving October 13; the Alchemy queues are scheduled to disappear on February 2. The digital-only cards will remain legal in Historic, Timeless, Brawl, and Competitive Brawl. [1]
Before that exit, more than 200 rebalanced tabletop cards are due to return to their printed versions on September 22. The cards are not being erased. The special format that explained why some of them behaved differently is leaving, while their code, art, and rules text move into other rooms. [1]
That is the odd promise of digital collecting: the object can survive while the shelf is removed. A paper card can be stranded by rotation; a digital card can be reassigned by software. Neither is nothing, but they are different kinds of ownership. Alchemy's farewell is a useful reminder to read the platform rules with the same attention you give a card's text box. The cardboard has corners. The digital collection has terms of service. [1]

College Highlights Get Weekly Cards
Panini says its new Instant NIL program will turn notable college-football performances into on-demand cards every week during the season. The opening group included Jayden Maiava after two wins, Darian Mensah after a five-touchdown debut, a Cam Coleman and Ryan Wingo dual card, and Keelon Russell. [2]
Our Two Cents
The box score has completed its natural evolution into a keepsake. Somewhere, a highlight is waiting for its card number.

A retrospective with attacks, weaknesses, and enough Pikachu to run the gift shop. Curators, please sleeve the exhibits.

Two Cards Were Banned Before They Arrived
Wizards announced that Eye of Ugin will enter Reality Fracture already banned in Brawl and Historic, while Mind Twist will arrive pre-banned in Historic. The set is scheduled to reach MTG Arena on September 29. [5]
Our Two Cents
Most cards get a release party. These two received a calendar invite from compliance.

Beckett Opened a Grading Side Door
Beckett says its main website and mobile app remain offline during infrastructure work, but Base, Standard, and Express card-grading submissions are now available through a temporary form. Previously received orders continue to be processed. Account access and online tools remain unavailable, and Beckett says it has extended active Online Price Guide subscriptions by 60 days. Its notice still gives no date for full digital restoration. [6]
Verdict · The temporary form is a useful repair. The account login and price guide still need a way home.

🇩🇪 Munich Put Luffy and Yugi on the Same Stage
No tariffs, all hits (no subtitles required) · Germany
The first Munich Card Convention ran September 12–13 at Motorworld Munich. The organizer's retrospective describes a show floor for singles, sealed product, accessories, and grading, then adds a distinctly local layer: appearances by the German voice actors behind Luffy, Yugi, and Bugs Bunny. [7]
Those characters come from different franchises and different shelves, but the voices belong to the same audience memory. The event treated dubbing not as trivia beside the cards, but as programming capable of connecting anime, games, cartoons, and collectors in one room. [7]
Why You Should Care
For US shows, the useful lesson is not to copy the guest list. It is to program the culture around the cards, including the local voices, artists, shops, and stories that made the objects matter before anybody checked a comp. [7]

The Best Set of the Week Has a Print Run of One
A collector says they spent about three months of after-work time making a playable Pokemon TCG-style birthday deck for their girlfriend: 254 cards, including 100 Pokemon, 100 Trainer cards, custom holos, and a booster-pack QR code that leads to her Spotify. The evidence is the creator's public post, not an official product announcement. That is also the point. Sometimes the hobby's finest manufacturing department is one person who noticed what somebody loves. [13]
